August 2024
Approaching the dawn of our 102nd calendar year, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the journey we have undertaken together. Our club stands as a beacon of faith, sisterhood, and service. A true testament to the strength and resilience of women united in their devotion to God and community.
This time of the year is always marked by excitement and anticipation, as we prepare to embark on a new chapter infused with the values that define us as Catholic women. It is a season brimming with opportunities to come together, celebrate our shared beliefs, and partake in the many wonderful events inspired by our faith.
As we embrace this new year, I plan to incorporate some changes to the way our club has run. My intention is to emphasize our role as servants of the Lord and encourage our younger club members to be more active. To foster this heightened sense of belonging, I plan to offer meeting times that align with the schedules of our young-working Catholic women. By offering a few evening meetings to accommodate younger generations, we instill hope that our club will continue to grow and thrive for the next 100+ years!
In the Book of Proverbs, we are reminded: "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue" (Proverbs 31:26). Let us embody these words as we navigate the year ahead, speaking with wisdom and kindness in all that we do. As we gather in fellowship and prayer, may we be guided by the light of God's love, finding strength and solace in our shared journey of faith.
Let us Pray:
Heavenly Father,
We come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the blessings you have bestowed upon us. As we embark on this new year together, may your presence be felt in every gathering, every act of service, and every moment of fellowship. Grant us the wisdom to discern your will, the courage to follow where you lead, and the grace to embody your love in all that we do.
Bless our club, O Lord, and strengthen the bonds of sisterhood that unite us. May we always strive to serve you faithfully, both in word and in deed, living out our motto, "Pro Deo Pro Patria," for your greater glory and the betterment of our community and country.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we pray.
Amen.
With Faith & Love,
