About Us

From our beginning in 1922, the primary goal of The Catholic Woman’s Club has been the spiritual, cultural and social development of its members through charitable and civic works.  The Club is 96 years old, yet remains strong and vital.

Why has it been so successful? What is the "secret"?

The continued success has only been possible because of strong leadership and hard-working club members. For almost a century the Catholic Women of Pierce County have generously donated their time, talents and financial support to raise funds to help support local charitable organizations.  Hundreds of women have worked over the years to live up to our Club motto:  "Pro Deo Pro Patria" - for God and for Country.

We provide opportunities for fellowship as well as for spiritual growth. Our activities have varied over the years to be adaptable to the changing times.  Since 1924 when the first Charity Ball was held, we have had card parties, style/fashion shows, carnivals, craft auctions and most recently lessons in painting (where many of us learned we are not closet-Picassos!).

Each September we welcome our new Sisters in Christ, and take joy in each new member becoming a party of our history.
