The Catholic Woman’s Club of Pierce County was founded in 1922 and is a 501C(3) organization. Its goal is the spiritual, cultural and social development of its members through charitable and civic works. In CWC Club Year 2024-2025 the club was able to donate $34,000 to charity. These charities fulfill a variety of needs throughout our community and include Catholic Community Services, St. Leo’s Food Connection, L’Arche Tahoma Hope and Our Lady of Guadalupe Maternity Center to name just a few of past years’ recipients.

Underlying the charitable and civic activities is our continued emphasis on our members spiritual development.

We have been truly blessed to receive the artwork from Mary Mann, along with her generosity in allowing us to share her work on our website.

A note from the artist regarding the above image:

“It was my intention to create an artwork which commemorates women throughout history who have been instruments of God’s mercy to those in need. God’s mercy is offered freely to all and we are all in need. These seven women are painted as an idealized version of the Corporal Acts of Mercy; To feed the hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to shelter the homeless, to care for the sick, to visit the imprisoned and to bury the dead.”
